The new version of Mass Custom Fields Manager is out!
Why do you need it? For example if you have custom fields that old plugins left of your posts and you want to get rid of them you can now do it with a click of a mouse. There are virtually endless occasions where this plugin can save you valuable time and effort.

I added new features that you asked for, fixed some minor bugs and did some code optimization.

Download it now!

If you encounter any bugs or have an idea on how to improve the plugin then I would love to hear it from you.

I must be doing something wrong. i goto “use”, check off the parameters and type in the custom field names and click go… No posts are found.

    Hi,
is it possible to add custom field dynamically to posts belonging to a particular category using regular expression?

if yes, then how can that be done?

    @Praz
Why would you want to use a regular expression? and on what? You can simply choose the categories by yourself.
If you can convince me that it would help & improve the plugins I will add it to the next release.

suppose I have 1000 posts in a category called video. i have added(embedded) videos from youtube in the form [youtube $video_key] in the post content.

now i want to add thumbnails to all the posts that are already posted in the form http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/$video_key/default.jpg. to do this, i need to search through all the posts content and find the $video_key for that particular post and then add the custom field dynamically in http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/$video_key/default.jpg format.

does this convince you? i dont think this is possible right now with your plugin. correct me if i am wrong and tell me the correct way to do it.

from my understanding this plugin can only be used to EDIT custom fields of already published posts/pages right? is there a way i can automatically insert custom field based on category for my future posts?

I’m sorry but this would take me too much time to develop.
However I can write an SQL query that uses regular expressions that can do it for you.

I will post the query here in the near future, or maybe I’ll even write a post about it.

i understand that it will take a lot of time to develop. please consider it for a future release. an sql query or a post would be great for the time being.

    tnx.
